Legal Custody

Having Legal Custody means that the individual that has that right over a child can make important decisions about the upbringing of that child. In many cases the courts will award such custody to both parents. But in certain circumstances where one of the parents may be unfit to make good judgementdecisions the courts will award this right to one of the parents.
